Dorothy Mae Mack

Dorothy Mae Mack, 83, of Beatrice died at her home Wednesday evening, Aug. 18, 2010. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln.

She was born Jan. 5, 1927, at Beatrice and lived on a farm near Odell until the age of seven, when she moved with her family to Beatrice and had lived here since that time.

She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1944. She worked at various places, including Dempsters in the payroll department, Beatrice National Bank as executive secretary and then after raising her family, she worked at Goodenough’s, Inc. for 12 years.

She was married to John Mack Nov, 26, 1949, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice and had celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2009. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice, where she was a member of the Altar Society and Circle 7.

Survivors include her husband, John “Jack” of Beatrice; four sons, James Mack and wife Barb of Lincoln, John Mack and wife Kathy of St. Louis, Mo., Joseph Mack and wife Carol of Lincoln, and Thomas Mack and wife Valerie of Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Denise Ackerman and husband Randy of Lincoln, Barbara Johnsen and husband Don of Beatrice and Jane Edwards and husband Tom of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John Kreuzberg of Beatrice; two sisters, Phyllis Moore and Mary Lou Schroer and husband Joe, all of Lincoln; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Matilda Zahm Kreuzberg; her daughter, Mary Beth Mack; her granddaughter, Bethany Faith Mack.
