At age 20, with his occupation, as his father was, a "saddler", Robert married Dorothy Smith, in Rowley, on Feb. 4, 1703. Dorothy was the daughter of Richard Smith and Hannah Cheney. She was also about 20 years old at the time of her marriage. Robert and Dorothy had five children together, all born in Rowley.
1. Dorothy Rogers, b. 1704; d. 1743 in Stratham, New Hampshire; m. Benjamin Jewett on Jan. 16, 1726 in Rowley.
2. Dionysius Rogers, b. 1705; d. Mar. 12, 1729 in Rowley, at the age of 24.
3. Daniel Rogers, b. Jan. 22, 1709; m. Sarah Davis, daughter of John Davis and Elizabeth Burnham and the widow of Peter Mason.
4. Mary Rogers, b. 1712; m. Jedediah Sanborn.
5. Jonathan Rogers, b. 1714; d. 1794 in Newburyport; m. Margery Stevens on Jul. 12, 1735 in Boston. Margery was the daughter of Thomas Stevens and Sarah Place.
Sadly at the age of 35, Dorothy died on Aug. 17, 1718.
