In 1954, he moved to Glasgow, Montana and worked at Chevrolet-Buick garage, the Glasgow Air Force Base and Markels Hardware Store. Douglas ran his own grocery buisness for many years.
In 1960, he married Mildred Stebleton in Glasgow, Montana.
Survivors; wife, Mildred of Glasgow;, Montana mother Anna Bergeron of Bottineau, North Dakota; step sons, Frank Stebleton of Glasgow, Montana; and Gordon Stebleton of Glendive, Montana; nine grandchildre; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Doris Fugere, Mrs Francis (Bernice) Cote and Mrs Oscar (Frances) Fugere, all of Bottineau, North Dakota.
