1937 - First lived at 47 Dunbar Road, Forest Gate, London E7.Grandfather & grandmother lived in next street (14 Gower Road).
1938 - moved to 26 Beachamp Road.
1946 - moved to pre-fab (B40 Wanlip Road)
1951 - joined Air Training Corps. Ran away from home (2 weeks on the run!)
1952 - first flight in an Avro Anson from Hornchurch. Exam results: GCE 'O' Level Maths, Physics, Geography and General Paper.
1953- ATC summer camp at West Malling. Started work in the City for Pitt & Scott (removals company) for £2:15s per week. Flew in a Tiger Moth.
1955 (22nd February) - joined the Royal Air Force as Air Signaller. Wings awarded 29th February 1956. Saw active service in Aden and Cyprus (U.N.). Awarded G.S.M with clasp "Arabian Peninsular" and United Nations medal (Cyprus).
1967 (21st February) - discharged from the RAF after completing 12 years of service.
1967 (31st March) - began training as an Air Traffic Controller.
1968 (18th January) - awarded Air Traffic Controller's Licence.
