Dr. Arthur Robinson was a war hero who came home to battle birth defects.
He established the first birth defect clinic at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, said Dr. Bruce Bender, friend and colleague.
He was a pediatrician. And then he really went after birth defects, Bender said.
He helped unravel the mystery of human chromosomes, Bender said.
Dr. Robinson died Feb. 16. He was 86.
He was a former vice president of National Jewish Medical Research Center, which he joined in 1975.
He was born Jan. 12, 1914, in New York City. He graduated from Rush Medical School at the University of Chicago in 1938. …
