by Frederick C. Freed (Foreword)
"Rare Porcelain Veilleuses Collection: Presented by Doctor Frederick C. Freed to the City of Trenton, Tennessee" is the museum guide to the world's largest collection of porcelain veilleuse-theieres, comprising 525 examples that Dr. Frederick C. Freed collected over a thirty-five year period in a multitude of countries, including France, Belgium, Sweden, Holland/The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Ceylon/Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Indochina. The two other substantial American collections, belonging to authors Frances Parkinson Keyes and Harold Newman, lack the size and scope of Freed's collection. All 525 pieces in the Freed Collection are described and illustrated in full-color in this guide.
