About Dr Ignatz (Max) Csucska
Birth Record is confusingly only partial on both pages 129 and 130 of the Gaya Record, it only shows father - Emannuel-not mother, with no details and appears to have been added in later into the records?
Equally confusingly his nephew in a detailed genealogical document composed in the 1960s says that Max lived in Yuma (Arizona) and Los Angeles and he was in contact with him up to 1939. The 1930 USA census indeed shows him in the Blaisdell Precinct, Yuma aged 63, in the dry goods business with a New York wife named Katherine ... In 1920 they are in Yuma and he is 'men's furnishings'.
1933 Eagle Rock Advertiser. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Picelich. of 2302 Addison way, have as their guests Mrs. Picelich’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Max Czuczka of Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Czuczka plan to spend the summer here and will visit with other membes of the family.
In 1942 he is listed at 5151 La Roda Avenue, Los Angeles.
1900 WANTED FOR EMBEZZLEMENT Gambling Causes the Downfall of New York Slore Clerk at Phoenix Phoenix. A. T., Sept. 18.—Local authorities who are in search of Max Czuczka, formerly head clerk in the New York store, for embezzlement, have heard from him down in Mexico. The i Mexican officials were notifiecd today to be on the lookout for him. Czuczka disappeared over a week ago and his shortage has grown to $1,500. It is probable that he got away with several hundred dollars' more. Giambling was the cause of his downfall. When he next surfaces, half a dozen years later, still in Yuma, he is donating $100 to the fund for a creamery!
By 1907 he was a local personality, manager of the Men's store named the Hub. When it burned down months later the building was insured for $1500. The stock claimed as ... $9500.They got $3000. Next he got into the Anito Lead and Silver Company. And the local Elks. And became chairman of the Levee committee of the Commercial Club for whom he also played ... baseball.. and a leading light of the local Republican Party Lead and Silver forgotten he took to running 'the People's Stores'.
at some stage he had wed Katherine Ames and in 1907 it was reported that his wife and niece, Miss Eunice Fleury, had returned from visiting relatives in Seattle. Mrs C gave lunch and tea parties on the lawn to the local ladies...
In 1912 he was leading the Yuma Municipal League, in fact if there was a civic or social committee occasion going, the name Czuczka seemed to be there

Something has gone awry here. How can he be dead in Vienna? And it's he in Yuma. Because in 1912 brother Emil is there too ...
