DR. JOHN D. EMMET DIES; PATRIOT'S DESCENDANT Morristown, Nov. 17. - Dr. John Duncan Emmet, retired, a descendant of Robert Emmet, the Irish patriot, died at his home, 30 Morris avenue, Thursday after a brief illness of pneumonia. He was born in New York City, April 26, 1857, a son of the late Dr. Thomas Addis Emmet and Catherine Duncan Emmet. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and of the Medical School of Columbia University. He is survived by a brother, Major Robert Emmet, of England, and a sister, Kathleen, Countess of Denbigh, wife of the Earl of Denbigh, a resident of England. Funeral services were held this morning in the Chapel of the Divine Compassion at White Plains, N.Y. at 11 o'clock . Dr. Emmet moved to Morristown in 1920, a short time after the death of his father, with whom he had made his home for many years at 95 Maddison (sic) avenue, New York. He retired from the practice of medicine about ten years ago. In 1904 Dr. Emmet married Miss Josephine Wharton Drexel, a daughter of the late Joseph Drexel, a partner of J. P. Morgan. The wedding in St. Patrick's Cathedral was a notable event in society. THE COURIER-NEWS
