"Dr. Luke Barber, b. 1615, Wickham Hall, Yorkshire, England, A surgeon, and member of the Cromwell Court; came to MD 1655 married Elizabeth Younge, b. 1615/1621, England and died 1725/1726. Dr. Luke Barber was awarded 1000 acres on the Wicomico River in St Mary's MD by Lord Baltimore; res Charles Co, MD. (Governor of MD 1657-58).
