About Dr. Nathaniel Wales Faxon
Dr. Faxon was a summer resident of West Falmouth, MA since boyhood. He became a year round resident in 1953 just as a number of physicians were organizing to build a hospital in Falmouth. Dr. Faxon had retired from an outstanding career as physician and hospital administrator. He was the director of Massachusetts General for 14 years, was a Harvard Medical School graduate, and had expertise in the construction and design of medical facilities. He became an advisor and chairman of the Falmouth Hospital Committee in 1958. His expertise was instrumental in the construction of Falmouth hospital building.
