Dr. Thomas Gosselin, pediatric dentist

Dr. Thomas J. Gosselin, 63, West Reading, a pediatric dentist, died Jan. 13 at 8:10 p.m. in Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Dauphin County, where he had been a patient since Dec. 21.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Thomas) Gosselin.

Gosselin had been self-employed for 30 years as a pediatric dentist from his Wyomissing office, last working Dec. 17.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Gosselin was a 1960 graduate of Msgr. Bonner High School, Philadelphia, and received a bachelor's degree in biology from Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, Md. in 1964.

He was a 1968 graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, Philadelphia.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Gosselin was a 1993 recipient of the Sportsman's Award from the Berks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

He was co-founder of the Wyomissing Area Soccer Club in 1978.

Gosselin was a youth soccer coach for various teams in the Wyomissing and Reading-Berks Youth Soccer Clubs.

He served on the board of directors of the Reading-Berks Youth Soccer Organization.

Gosselin was past vice president of the Mount St. Mary's Alumni Association.

He is survived by three sons: Thomas J. Jr., Keymar, Md.; Jonathan K., Wyomissing; and Mark S ., with whom he resided.

Other survivors include two sisters, Diane (Gosselin) Knapp, Annapolis, Md., and Margaret (Gosselin) Smith, Downingtown, Chester County.

There are also 10 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading , is in charge of arrangements
