On the 1901 Census Dugald and Annie are still at 398 Dunbarton Road and have the following children. George (18) a drapers assistant, Annie (16) pork shop assistant, Henrietta (14) pork shop assistant, Janet (11) scholar, Elizabeth (9) scholar.

His death certificate shows his age as 71 and address as 39 White Street, Partick, Glasgow and his profession as a shipyard storeman. His certificate is witnessed by his daughter, Elizabeth Fletcher, also of 39 White Street. He is a widower.
