"Mr. Emmerich was born in McComb, Mississippi and entered the ministry in 1926. He served as a Methodist missionary to Korea from 1929 to 1934. He returned to this county and served pastorates in Mississippi and Louisiana.
In Louisiana, he was pastor at Oak Grove, La., Methodist Church; Parker Memorial in New Orleans; Rayville, University Church in Lake Charles, First Methodist in West Monroe, and First Methodist Church in Pineville.
He was Executive Secretary of the Board of Education from 1944-48. Mr. Emmerich had served in his present position since June of last year.
Mr. Emmerich is survived by his wife, Katherine; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine E. Mulling of Slidell, and Mrs. Elsa Ann Jamison of Bossier City, and one brother, J. O. Emmerich of McComb, Mississippi."
