Earl R. Fasching, 89, died December 31, 2011 at his residence in Bismarck, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, ND with Rev. James Braaten as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Earl was born on February 6, 1922 to Louis and Anna (Kohler) Fasching. He was born, raised and educated in Golva, ND where he graduated from Golva High School. On December 18, 1941, Earl married Vernette Smith in Helena, MT. He served with the United States Navy from 1942 – 1943. Earl dedicated 42 years into the grocery business. After working in Seattle, WA for 4 years, he started working in Wiboux, MT in 1945, Golva, ND in 1950, Livingston in 1955, New England, ND in 1965, later moving to Bismarck, ND in 1975 where he was employed at Dan's Super Value.

He is survived by his sons, Richard (Christine) Fasching, Portland, OR, Thomas (fiancé, Peggy) Fasching, and Timothy (Jane) Fasching, Portland, OR; along with ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
