- Daniel Dyosi and Sipho Mhlanga appeared briefly in the Bellville District Court.
- Spokesman Eric Ntabazalila said they would appear again on May 10 for a formal bail application. At their last court appearance, both suspects abandoned their bail applications. They have since had a change of heart and are now looking to bid for their freedom again. State attorney Kenneth Roberts said they are waiting for a DNA report that will hopefully provide them with evidence against the accused.
- Roberts said they will also launch a civil claim against the police for negligence and the unlawful arrest of Meyer.
- The two accused will return to court on 19 July to apply for bail.
