Ebenezer Stacy

At Wilbraham, on the 25th inst. greatly lamented by his family and numerous friends Mr. Ebenezer Stacy, aged 69 years. The circumstances attending the death of Mr. S. were alarming, and should warn us "to be also ready." He had been laboring in the field with two others through the day, apparently in perfect health. At the close of the day, they left their work to return home. A hired man of Mr. S. drove a team, and Mr. S. followed after. The two laborers proceeded home with the team, and after unloading some potatoes, Mr. S. not coming, they became alarmed, and went in pursuit. He was found dead within a few rods of where he was last seen, about three quarters of an hour previous. A coroner's inquest was held on the body, whose verict was - accidental death.
