[1] Ebenezer Wells Jr. died June 12, 1758 and is buried at 'Old Deerfield Burying Ground' Deerfield, MA.

WILL OF EBENEZER WELLS (1691-1758) HAMPSHIRE Probate Records, Volume IX, p. 7 In the Name of God Amen I Ebenezer Wells of Deerfield in the County of Hampshire in New England Gentleman calling to mind my own Mortality, also considering my advanced age, not knowing how Soon I may be called to put off the my Earthly Tabernacle & at present of Sound Mind & Memory do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament, this Twenty third day of May one thousand Seven hundred & fifty Seven. First I give my Soul to God who gave it me & my body to the Dust to be buried in decent Christian burial at the Discretion of my Executors humbly hooping through the merits of my redeemer to attain a glorious resurrection to immortal life— After my Just Debts & funeral charges are paid by my Executors I give & dispose of my Estate in the following manner— Inprimus I give & bequeath to Abigail my beloved wife my best bed with all the furniture thereto belonging, viz my best bed quilt three bed blankets & a good Suit of Curtains, also all my linen in the house whether wrought or unwrought and also all my pewter of any Sort also all my books & also my largest brass kettle & my two best Chests besides what is hereafter mentioned & I also give & bequeath unto my Said wife one half of all my Personal Estate of what Sort or kind Soever to her & her Heirs forever, & also the use & Improvement of one half of all my Real Estate with all the buildings & Edifices therein during her the Said Abigail’s natural life— Item I give to the Church of Christ in Deerfield a good Silver Tankard to be provided by my Executors out of the remaining part of my estate. Item I give & bequeath unto my Nephew Ebenezer Wells of Greenfield all my lands that lie within the District of Greenfield to him & his Heirs forever & I likewise give unto him the said Ebenezer Sixty Six pounds thirteen Shillings & four pence to be paid him within ten years from the Time of my Decease in the following manner viz Six pounds thirteen Shillings & four pence part annually until the whole Sum of Six pounds thirteen Shillings & four pence is paid— Item I give to the Children & Heirs of my brother John Wells late of Deerfield Deceased all my right & Interest in & unto the lands that lie in the north half of the additional Grants of land So called in Deerfield Aforesaid viz my lot in the first & my lot in the Second Division of Said land to them and their heirs forever – Item I give to my brother Jonathan Wells of Hatfield all my Comons or Comon rights in all the undivided Lands in Deerfield aforesaid to him & his Heirs forever Item I give to each of the Children of my Sister Mary Graves the late wife of Aaron Graves Thirty Shillings to be paid them unto the remaining part of my Estate by my Executors— Item I give to Elisabeth Wells the Daughter of my brother Joshua Wells Six pounds Thirteen Shillings & four pence to be paid her out of the remaining part of my Estate as Aforesaid— Item I give to Elisabeth the wife of Nathaniel Phelps of Northampton Thirteen pounds Six Shillings & eight pence, I also give to Burnham the Son of the Said Elisabeth Phelps Thirteen pounds Six Shillings and eight pence to be paid to each of them by my Executors as aforesaid and for all the remaining part of my Estate whether real or Personal that is not already disposed of by this my last Will & Testament I give & bequeath the whole & every part and Parcel thereof unto my nephew Ebenezer Wells of Deerfield the Son of my brother Thomas Wells late of Deerfield Deceased to him the Said Ebenezer his Heirs & Assigns forever And lastly I constitute ordain & appoint my beloved wife Abigail & my Said Nephew Ebenezer Wells of Deerfield Executors of this my last Will & Testament & I do by these present revoke disanull & utterly make void all & any former will & testament at any time heretofor made or ordained & also hereby ratify & confirm & declare this Instrument to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the day & year first written— Signed Sealed Published & declared by the Said Ebenezer Wells to be his last Will & Testament in presence of us who Subscribed as Witnesses in the presence of the Testator Jeremiah Nims Daniel Nims Ebenezer Wells Seal Ebenezer Barnard At a Court of probate holden at Northampton within & for the County of Hampshire on the Second Tuesday of July being the 11th day of Sd Month Ano Domo 1758 p Timothy Dwight Esq Judge of Said Court the foregoing Will was presented for probate by the Executors therein named Ebenezer Barnard Jeremiah Nims & Daniel Nims the Witnesses to the Same appearing made oath that they Saw Ensn Ebenezer Wells the Testator Sign & Seal & heard him pronounce & declare the Same to be his last Will & Testament & that he was of Sound Mind & memory when he did it & that they all signed as Witnesses to the Same at the Same time in presence of Said Testator & of each other wherefore it is ratified Approved & confirmed as the last Will & testament of Said Deceased p Timothy Dwight
