Obituary read: "Ellen E. Dunavan, 89, of Danville, died at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday (July 20, 2005) at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Danville, the daughter of George and Hazel Makemson Story.

She and her late husband, Ralph, had lived and farmed in State Line and Bismarck area for many years. She graduated in 1935 from Danville High School and was retired from General Electric. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards. She was married March 28, 1938, to Ralph Dunavan, southeast of Bismarck. He died May 25, 1994.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo (Marvin) McDonald of Danville; two sons, Dan (Katie) Dunavan of Bismarck and Don Dunavan of Danville Route 3: one sister, Hazel (Bob) Livesay of Arizona; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and one daughter-in-law, Sondra Dunavan.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at Morrison Funeral Home in Bismark with Miles Clark officiating; Burial: Walnut Corner Cemetery; Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the building fund of Old Union Church of Christ."
