About Edward Cranfield
- "Lionel Cranfield, Earl of Middlesex", Westminster Abbey
Receipts signed by Lionel Cranfield and Edward Cranfield SACKVILLE.ESTATE.GENERAL.Cranfield family.Financial. For money received from their brother James, 2nd Earl of Middlesex Bdls. 15, 18, 29
Held by: Kent History and Library Centre Date: 1645 Reference: U269/E305
The death date of "03/16/1648" is undocumented. However, the 1648 nuncuperative will of Edward Cranfield of Copt Hall [one of the well known family residences & the one his father was living in at the time of his death in August 1645]. This will [proved in 1648] is in Latin, but clearly mentions Copt Hall, Lionel Cranfield and Nathaniel Brent, so that would seem to be sufficient to confirm his death.
Edward Cranfield definitely died without issue [male] as the family titles went into abeyance after the death of his brother Lionel.
