About Edward Price

The Will of Edward Price would indicate that he had no wife or children. He is not the same person as the Edward Price who appears in the records of Kanawha County Virginia/West Virginia. A list of siblings is found in the Shenandoah County Deed Record Book K Page 425 wherein the sale of the land he inherited from his father is sold by his then living brothers and sisters to Abraham Pence. Those not appearing in the deed record are his Mother Sarah and brother Zachariah Price since presumably they died prior to the sale agreement.

I believe Edward was the first born child on the fact he was named first and named Executor of his father's will. Since my direct ancestor, his brother Thomas was born 22 April 1750, Edward was no doubt born three or four years earlier circa 1846-47. Birthplace was based on information in the Revolutionary War pension applications of brother Thomas Price and Sampson Price. Also Warrants and Surveys of the Northern Neck of Virginia show interactions with neighbors. It is believed the family left Frederick County about 1757 due to the Indian raids happening about that time. We do not have a date for their return but have a record showing the property along the Shenandoah River was obtained from Lawrence Garr who died mid 1700 time period.
