STAUNTON-Mrs. Effie Grove Burkholder, 80, died at King's Daughters' Hospital Sunday morning at 12:20 a.m. She lived at Route 1, Waynesboro. A daughter of the late Abraham and Elizabeth Wine Grove, she was born Aug. 1, 1881, at Danforth, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Samuel Burkholder, in 1956. Mrs. Burkholder was a member of Hildebrand Mennonite Church for 54 years. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lettie Graves of Route 1, Waynesboro ; three sons, Oren G. Burkholder, Nelson R. Burkholder, both of Route 1, Waynesboro, and Roy A. Burkholder of Philadelphia, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Letta Schultz of Bozeman, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Hildebrand Mennonite Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. George R. Brunk and the Rev. Marion C. Weaver will conduct the service. Interment will be in the Hildebrand Mennonite Church Cemetery. The body will remain at McDow-Tyree Funeral Hoe until one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing at the church. Family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.
