Eleanor M. Sorby, age 89, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, July 7, 2008, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.Eleanor Mae Boulton was born July 28, 1918 to George and Annie Boulton near Kragnes, MN, where she grew up. She attended Oak Mound School. She married Ernest Sorby September 7, 1939 at Moorhead. They farmed near Felton, MN, retiring to Moorhead in 1978. Ernest died August 31, 1984 and she continued to live with her daughter, Bonnie. Eleanor entered Eventide on December 6, 2003 and continued to live there until her death. She will be remembered for her homemade brown bread, molasses cookies with white icing and popcorn balls. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts at Eventide. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie, Moorhead; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Lucille, Hickson; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Dayna, Glyndon; a daughter-in-law, Karen, Fargo; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Grover, Moorhead; a sister-in-law, Bessie Sorby, Moorhead; a brother-in-law, James Jensen, Crookston; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, a son, Gerald, a sister, Margaret and a brother, George.
