Eleanore C. Quinn, 77, of 439 S. Massey St., died at 6:45 a.m. Friday at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.

Mrs. Quinn worked for the North Country Library System and later was principal clerk for the state Department of Transportation.
Born June 11, 1919, in Watertown, daughter of James and Blanche Cain Corbett, she graduated from Watertown High School and married Bernard J. Quinn on Oct. 12, 1953, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Benoit C. Dostie, then assistant pastor, officiating. Mr. Quinn died July 10, 1993.

Mrs. Quinn was a communicant of St Patrick's Church and a member of the Beleek Collectors Society, a group for those who collect Irish china. She was secretary of the Civil Service Employees Association, active in local election polls, an avid bowler and golfer, and a member of the Watertown Golf Club.

During high school and for many years afterward, she was active in sports, especially basketball and softball.

Surviving are two sons, Bernard. J. Jr. Miramar, Fla, and Robert J.. Baldwinsville, a daughter, Mrs. Garrett (Elaine) Van Ness, New Carlisle, Ohio; two brothers, George and Robert "Pat" Corbett, both of Watertown, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, James, Joseph, and Gerald, and a sister, Marguerite Ferguson, died before her.

A prayer service will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St Patrick's Church with the Rev Ivan G. Boyea officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
