Eli was the son of Jonathon Curtis and Sibbel Haven of Charleton, Worcester County, Massachusetts. They were married October 19, 1780...see Massachusetts, Town and. vial Records 1620-1988. Also according to the "History of Noble County, Ohio," Eli Curtis was the first of the Yankee settlers and one of the first to occupy a hill farm. Eli Curtis built the first Brick House in the Township in 1828.
