Elisha Dodson Davis is your third great uncle.
Dorothy Willard,→Onad Duncan, Dorothy's mother→Jessie Davis, Onad's father→Marion Lynch Davis, Jessie's father→
Samuel Davis, Marion's father→Elisha Dodson Davis, Samuel's brother.
Elisha Dodson Davis was noted for the making of molasses in his younger days. He would take his mill and pan from farm to farm and make molasses from the cane grown by area farmers, usually keeping a percentage of amount produced. Times being what they were and Elisha being the man that he was, he often worked bare footed. One day as he was working a "batch", the farmer on whose place the work was being done notified Elisha, also called Mr. Sid, that he was standing on a live coal. Elisha was reported to respond," Which foot."
