Eliza R. Wells, Complainant & Daniel H. Wells, Respondent. " To the honorable George M. Williams, Judge of said court, your complainant, Eliza R. Wells, a resident of said County and State....................was married to said Danile H. Wells in the month of March 1837 and that they continued to live together as man and wife unitl May 1841 and that said complainant has a child, Albert E. Wells, 13 years in March 1851. That the said Daniel H. Wells attached himself to the Mormon Church and emigrated to the valley of the Salt Lake in "California" where he has remained since May 1848. That during all the time the said complainant and the said Daniel H. Wells lived together, your complainant was a good and lawful wife and never gave the said Wells any cause or provocation to desert your complainant...........yet said Daniel H. Wells has wholly abandoned and deserted your said complainant..........since May 1848....Hence to grant your complainant a divorce from the bonds of matrimony now existing between her and the said Daniel H. Wells.......
