Elizabeth Branwell

Elizabeth, one of 12 siblings, born in 1776 to Thomas Branwell and his wife, Anne Carne in Penzance, Cornwall ] she was the aunt to literary sisters Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte & Anne Bronte. Called Aunt Branwell she helped raise the Bronte children following the death of her sister Maria in 1821. Elizabeth managed the household until her own death on 29 October 1842, in Howarth, Yorkshire. She was buried at St Michael and All Angels on the 3rd of November. Her brother-in-law, Patrick Bronte, was her executor and probate was granted on the 12th December.
