He married Elizabeth Brown in Isle of Wight Co, VA, about 1703. Elizabeth was born in Isle of Wight Co, VA about 1686. Notes by Leon Zeigler: Israel Joyner, son of William Joyner and wife, Mary Boddie, son of Thomas Joyner I born before 1698, Isle of Wight Co, Virginia. Israel married Elizabeth Brown, daughter of John and Mary Brown of Bertie Co, NC. Israel Joyner received 1 640 acre grant in Bertie Co. November 1, 1719. He sold this grant in 1735 and in 1738 received a grant in Beaufort Co, NC. His will was filed 1739 in Beaugord Co. where he had died. His property was left to "my wife and my six children."
