Elizabeth Yount, and her sister Frances, traveled to California with the Bidwell Party (or Walker-Chiles Party) of 1843. Word of her father's wealth and his invitation to come to Alta California traveled back to his Missouri Family. The girls could not get here fast enough, probably to escape their grandfather. Once they arrived in California, they lived in George Yount's blockhouse on Rancho Caymus.
Old Cemetery Ledger: Daughter of George Calvert Yount. Elizabeth married John Calvert Davis when she was 17 and he was 52, had two daughters: Elizabeth Anne born Feb 28, 1847 and Mary Eliza born April 1, 1845 and had one son after Davis' death. Then married Eugene Lemuel Sullivan in 1850 and had son Chas. Edward, May 5, 1851 to April 4, 1852.
