She was first and always a strong Christian woman. She served the Lord for many years. She attended the Moody Bible Institute and was a practical nurse. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Washington in Washington, PA. She was a former president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU).
When her husband died in 1932, she had four small girls. They moved to the family farm and stayed with Wayne C. Craft's mother and father (William L. Craft and Clara Trussel Craft). She worked in town as the children stayed at the farm.
