THE HINES FAMILY

In the early part of the last century, thirteen sons and daughters of Henry Hines Sr, of Campbell County, and later of Charlotte County, Virginia, came to Kentucky, most of them having married in Virginia before moving. The father had been twice married; the nine children by his first wife, Dorcas Kelley, being: John, William, Tabitha, Henry Jr, James, Mary, Thomas, Elizabeth, and Kelley, all born in Campbell County; his second wife, Elizabeth Harvey, became the mother of Simeon, Barbara, Nancy and Walton, who first saw the light in Charlotte county.
