Elizabeth Holly

Daughter of William Newman and Elizabeth Bowstred.

Wife of Increase Holly, whom she married on 2 April 1679 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut (the same day that her sister, Hannah Newman, married John Holly, brother of Increase Holly).

On 4 June 1692, Increase Holly and his wife (Elizabeth Newman), together with many other Stamford residents, signed an affidavit of good character in support of their neighbor, Elizabeth Clason (Elizabeth Periment, wife of Stephen Clason), who stood accused of witchcraft.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Sep 12 2022, 3:34:53 UTC
