About Elizabeth Ann Hoyle
Parowan Times 10/9/1929
DEATH OF GOOD WOMAN SHOCKS COMMUNITY
The entire community was shocked on Wednesday morning to learn that "Aunt" Libbie Hoyle had passed away during the night before at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida May Page in Salt Lake City. Influenza is reported to have been the cause of death.
Mrs. Hoyle, who is past seventy-two years of age, left here several weeks ago to visit with members of her family in Salt Lake City and Oregon and the folks at home were expecting her back the first of the week. A letter on Tuesday, however, stated that she was not feeling well though it didn't intimate that her condition was in the least serious. The next morning, however, the news of her death came. She had been ailing only since Saturday evening, having attended the conference meetings that day.
In her passing the community loses one of its noblest women, one whose life has been devoted to the service of others. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Ida May Page of Salt Lake City, Mr. Thomas Bennett of Parowan and Mr. O.B. Hoyle of Portland, Oregon, and also by two brothers, R.H. and Alvin Benson and one sister, Madora Halterman, all of this city. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved ones.
The body is being brought home on Saturday and funeral service will undoubtedly be on Sunday. Something concerning her life of usefullness and service will be given in these columns next week in connection with an account of the funeral.
