About Elizabeth Levering
Some list her as the daughter of Jacobus Vande Walle and also having a brother Jacobus van der Walle
Elizabeth VAN DE WALLE b 21 May 1626 in the city of Wesel. The amount of children they had, what was his occupation, and when he died, are questions about which I have no answers. per: Horatio Gates Jones, dated 1858. As you see this family has been reseached by others we do know the children and Rosier occupation. At least on research has found this out for us. Thank you Col. John Levering.
Elizabeth Van De Walle b 1626. Her brother, Jacob Van der Walle, was a wealthy Dutch Pietist, and a prominent shareholder in Frankfort Company which owned and organized Germantown. His wealth was the foundation of the Levering wealth; some of them are still wealthy industrialists
Born in Wesel, Westphalia, Prussia in 1620
Elizabeth was the daughter of Jacob Van De Walle. She married Rosier Levering on March 1646/1647 in Wessel, Westphalia, Prussia. Several children were born to this union; John Wigard, Gerhard, Eberhard, Elizabeth, Alche, William, and Daughter Levering. At the time of her marriage Elizabeth was living in Essen, a few miles north of Gemen.
Elizabeth died in Gemen, Wesphalia, Prussia. The Van de Walle was a family name in Leydon. Wesel was near the frontier and Gemen was six miles from the border, Elizabeth's residence at the time of her marriage was Essen, a few miles north of Gemen. Family tradition states that Rosier and Elizabeth occupied the old Levering homestead at Gemen and died there. Their home was a quaint, old, stone structure, with Dutch gables and still standing in 1885.
