Elizabeth Anne Burrell was born on 20 April 1757. She was the daughter of Peter Burrell and Elizabeth Lewis. She married, firstly, Douglas Hamilton, 8th Duke of Hamilton, son of James Hamilton, 6th Duke of Hamilton and Elizabeth Gunning, Baroness Hamilton of Hameldon, on 5 April 1778. She and Douglas Hamilton, 8th Duke of Hamilton were divorced in 1794 by an Act of Parliament, at her suit. She married, secondly, Henry Cecil, 1st Marquess of Exeter, son of Hon. Thomas Chambers Cecil and Charlotte Garnier, on 19 August 1800.1 She died on 17 January 1837 at age 79 at Privy Gardens, Whitehall, London, England, without issue.
