Short History

Abraham was born on 28 March 1766 in Mill Creek, New Castle County, Delaware to Aaron and Mary Woodward Mendenhall. Elizabeth was born on 15 December 1778 also in Mill Creek, Delaware. Abraham lived on Sugar Loaf Farm located about one mile north of Brandywine Springs, Delaware. He was a cloth dresser and owned a fulling mill at New Castle, Delaware. Abraham and Elizabeth were married in 1798. Abraham died on 17 May 1833 in Mill Creek, Delaware and Elizabeth died on 20 August 1863 in Mill Creek, Delaware. They had eleven children, 3 girls and 8 boys.

Matilda Wells Streeper Record- Citation: As of 2013 - this old, family temple ordinance record book is in the possession of descendant Rose Adele Gwynn. Notes, This book was kept by Utah pioneer Matilda Wells Streeper to record temple ordinances done by her and her cousin William Mendenhall for their relatives and friends. Of particular note were the records of her own father George's family (limited), and the family of her grandfather Harrison Wells' . All of his children's names, birth dates and spouses were listed. Her relationship to various individuals was stated. She also included work for some of her Streeper in-laws. The Hoopes Family Record, Vol I 1979 pg 220
