Since Thomas Monck (who married as his first wife Frances Plantagenet) was still living in 1564, it would seem to me that this information (i.e., his marriage to Frances Plantagenet, daughter of Arthur Plantagenet) is factual. Of course, he "could have lied," but I would think his other contemporaries would have called him out if he was lying. Also, as an FYI, the 1564 Visitation shows all of Thomas Monck's children to be by his first wife Frances Plantagenet with the only exception being his daughter Dorothy. The later 1620 Visitation continues to show the Monck-Plantagenet marriage with Thomas Monck who married Elizabeth Smith being a grandson of Thomas Monck & Frances Plantagenet.
