About Elizabeth Wilson Nish
As the widow of Thomas Nish (1792-1847), Elizabeth Penman Nish of Scotland and her two daughters, Ellen and Mary, traveled westward in the Richad Ballantyne Company in 1855. 414 individuals and 46 wagons were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Mormon Grove, Kansas (Near Atchison). They departed on July 1st and 2nd, 1855.
Elizabeth Penman Nish, re-married William Hunter on February 2, 1856 in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah, and settled there.
