About Elizabeth Benefield Norton
It has been confirmed that she traveled in 1848 with an LDS overland travel company but exactly which one has not been verified.
About 1853 they, David and Elizabeth, settled in Lehi with other pioneers where they built up a prosperous town and where many of their descendants still live. He died there in the spring of 1860. His wife died in 1867. They are buried in the old Pioneer Cemetery where the highway now runs. Many of the graves were removed to the new cemetery, but David and Elizabeth and several others were left in the cemetery. The Daughters of the Pioneers of Lehi have made a nice Park and erected a marker for the pioneers who were not removed.
