    • "Elizabeth Sharp was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky, May 22, 1818, and died at Cashion, Oklahoma, September 11, 1910. Aged 92 years, 3 months and 17 days. She was the eldest child of Abraham and Margaret Sharp. She moved with her parents to Rush county, Indiana, in 1837, and on to Knox County, Missouri, in October 1839. On November 1st, 1841, she was happily married to Samuel Russel Grant. To this union seven children were born, one dying in infancy, George Harvey. Four sons and two daughters survive her. the sons are S. F., of Idaho, J. W., of Bentonville, Arkansas, A. S., of Knox County, L. E., of Henry County, Missouri. The daughters are Mrs. Sarah Hicks, of Pleasanton, Kansas, Mrs. J. W. Bryant, of Cashion, Oklahoma. Samuel Russel Grant preceded her to the other life by many years, dying quite suddenly March 1, 1871.
    • "Sister Grant was converted and joined the church in early life and became a member of the first Methodist church ever organized in what is now Knox County, Missouri.
    • "Her home for many years was in this vicinity and was a prominent social center whose doors ever stood open to the itinerant preacher, and was in every respect typical of the early hospitality. Her long and eventful life comprehended within its bounds the sum total of human experience of greatest joys and deepest sorrows. She was patient through all her suffering, often expressing her willingness to go. Thus after long waiting she has gone to meet her Savior and to be with the loved ones gone before.
