About Elizabeth Lucinda "Lizzie" Sims
[WHT: Dudley Hinds shared the following information:]
Elizabeth became an orphan at age seven. Over the next ten years she had at least three guardians. The first was L.D. Brown (possibly the same person as a man in Woodville named Loronzo Brown). L.D. was likely a brother of Sarah Brown, the maiden name of Elizabeth's mother.
Another guardian was John. B. Therrell, whose mother was Edith Brown, probably an older sister of Sarah.
The final guardian was John H. Sims, whose wife was Mary Brown, probably another sister of Sarah Brown. John Sims was an older brother of William R. Sims, the future husband of Elizabeth L. Bruce.
Buried in Old Greenville Cemetery, lot #220. Death date taken from inscription on tombstone. The day of the month was not legible but appeared to be a single digit.
