Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Sunday, Jan 24, 1943, p 14:

"Announcement is made of the marriage on Jan 16 of Miss Elizabeth Rita Monahan, daughter of Mr & Mrs Hugh V. Monahan of Mulry Lane, Lawrence, to Ens. Arthur Sneier (Sneler?) Smith, USNR, of Jacksonville, Florida. The ceremony was performed in the rectory of St. Joachim's R. C. Church, Cedarhurst, by the Rev. Francis P. Flanagan, pastor. A reception followed at the Monahan home.

The bride wore a beige afternoon gown with blue accessories and a corsage of brown orchids. Miss Dorothy Monahan, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and John Joseph Monahan, her brother, was best man.

Mrs. Smith was graduated from the College of the Sacred Heart, Manhattanville, and her husband from the University of Florida. The couple will make their temporary home in Washington, DC, where the bridegroom is stationed."
