NB - Sir Richard Smythe's mother had this to say in her Will: "To his [Sir Richard Smythe's] son Thomas Smith 100, and to John 50, to be paid on attaining the age of 21."

This son, Thomas (not listed below in the pre 2000 GenUK Essex pedigree) may have married Mary Smyth - a daughter fo the Smyth family of Ashton Court, (qv) Bristol.
