About Elizabeth Margaret Stock

Elizabeth M. Stock, nee Glauber, 77, of Belleville, IL, born May 24, 1933, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at home. Elizabeth was encircled by her loving family and the Very Rev. John Myler, rector of Cathedral. She passed peacefully in the midst of their prayers and songs.

Elizabeth during her life was above all a devoted Wife, a loving Mother, an adoring Grandmother, and a faithful Daughter of God.

She was a licensed beautician before her family expanded, and in 1974, she and her husband began P.T.L. Mfg, Inc., a local tool & die/metal stamping business, where she worked as the corporate secretary for over 20 years. With her husband, Elizabeth served as a founding member of both Belleville Area Right to Life and The Pregnancy Care Center.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Catherine, nee Haas, Glauber; three brothers, Melvin Glauber, Charles Glauber, and Nicholas (Helen) Glauber; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph A. and Theresa Stock; as well as her sisters-in-law, Nora Stroebel, Imogene (Marcellus) Flach, and Teresa (Ed) Eichholz.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Deacon Joseph E. Stock. Elizabeth and Joseph met in Cathedral Grade School and have remained active members of the Cathedral Parish since their marriage there in 1954.

Elizabeth is also survived by her ten children, all of whom live in the Belleville area: Lisa (Jim) Riess, Julie (Tom) Dalechek, Dr. Ann Stock, Jane Stock, Cathy (Rick) Arndt, Mary (Tom) Konradt, Joe (Dianne) Stock, Connie (John) Reitano, Dan (Barb) Stock, and Greta (Rob) Stock.

She is also survived by 54 grandchildren: Sarah (Trey) Holdener, Rebekah (Matt) Puckett, Ruth Mueller, Gwen (Josh) Phillips, Andrea (Brian) Russell, Erin (Jason) Florek, Jamie (Jason) Ticgelaor, Dan Dalechek (Deanna Laskowski), Christy (Kelly) Moore, Josh Dalechek, Hannah (David) Browning, Nathan and Stephen Dalechek, David (Danielle) Dalechek, Paul, John, Mark, Luke, Jude, James, Philip, Seth, Jacob, Nathan, Mary-Elizabeth, Caleb, Peter, and David Arndt, Tom Konradt (Erica Schramek), David Konradt (Amanda Blume), Joe, Jessica, and Sophie Konradt, Rachel, Nina, Joey, Noah, Audrey, Jack, and Tirzah Stock, Katie, Johnny, Molly, and Michael Reitano, and Leah, Stephanie, Bridget, Natalie, Maggie, Jenny, Emily, Robbie, Elizabeth, and Julie Stock; and 13 great-grandchildren, Kate and Tony Holdener, Olin Phillips, Jackson Florek, Jason, Jonathon, Drew, Ben, and Alex Ticgelaor, Ethan Dalechek, Jade Browning, Jackson Moore, and Danielle Konradt.

Elizabeth is also survived by her sisters, Delores Langan and Emily (Dick) Voss; sisters-in-law, Marian (Bill) Schobert and Mary Glauber; brothers-in-law, Bill (Pat) Stock and John Stroebel; and scores of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

Memorials may be made to The Cathedral of St. Peter, to Cathedral Grade School, to Belleville Area Right to Life, or to The Pregnancy Care Center. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church in Belleville, IL. Rev. Dennis Voss will lead the recitation of the Rosary at 4 p.m. Friday at church.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with the Rev. Dennis Voss officiating and with the Final Commendation by Bishop Edward K. Braxton, Ph.D., S.T.D., Bishop of Belleville.

Interment will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, IL.
