Biography

Elizabeth Truxton Cox, the daughter of Commodore Thomas Truxton. Elizabeth married prior, at age 15, Samuel C. Cox, of Maryland, on 22 Dec 1798, with whom she had two children. She then married Theodore Talbot.
Theodore was a successful attorney in New York City, and retired to Morrisania with a large fortune, but lost most of it in raising merino sheep. He removed to Kentucky, and settled on land belonging to his father, near Bardstown. He later removed to western upstate New York (Moscow, NKA Leicester), and died there. Elizabeth removed to Pontiac, MI,and died there 17 Oct 1855, aged 74 years.
