Elizabeth was a servant to the Stubbs Family on board the Northampton, that arrived in Port Elizabeth in 1820.


Elizabeth emigrated from England on board the Northampton on 13 December 1819. She reached Algoa Bay, South Africa, on 30 April 1820 as part of the 1820 Settlers as a maidservant to the Pringle family.

On arrival in Port Elizabeth, she married Daniel Wood who was on the same ship. Daniel was killed in action during a skirmish with the natives in 1828, and Elizabeth married Thomas William Stevens on 8 Feb 1830.
