    • "From the January 28, 1921 edition of the Barron County News-Shield (now the Barron News-Shield)
    • "DEATH OF MRS. CHARLES POST
    • "A cloud of sorrow wast [this is actually what is printed] cast over the city last Friday morning when it was learned that Mrs. Charles Post had died suddenly Thursday evening. Mrs. Post went to the Methodist church Thursday afternoon to attend a meeting of the Mite Society and had taken her little grandson, Dick, with her. While removing the wraps from Dick she called to a friend to 'take the baby quick,' and sank to the floor. Dr. Coleman was soon in attendance and she was taken to the city hospital, where she died at 5:40 in the evening from the attack of apoplexy.
    • "The funeral was held on Sunday from the Methodist church at 2:30 and internment was made in Wayside cemetery. Mrs. Post is survived by her husband, Charles Post, and three children. Mrs. Mae Walsh, Harry and Maud, all of whom are residents of this city, on brother, Elmer, of Tacoma and a large number of relatives and friends. Mrs. Post had lived in Barron County almost since her girlhood days, and was respected and loved by all.
    • "Ella Abbie Bartlett Post was born at Galesville, Wis., Sept. 1, 1869, the daughter of Albert and Amerilla Bartlett. Due to her mother's death she went when 17 years old to live with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and MRs. Harry Bartlett, who at that time resided near Bloomer, Chippewa County. She made this her home until she was married Oct. 15, 1889, to Charles Post in this city. To them three children were born. Mae, now Mrs. Roy Walsh,Harry and Maud, all of this city.
    • "Mrs. Post was united with the Methodist church, a member of the Philathea class and also of the Mite society.
    • "Mrs. George Carr, Mrs. Henry Martin and Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Smith of Minneapolis attended the funeral of Mrs. Charles Post last Sunday. Also Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bartlett and many other relatives from Cameron."
    • "Mrs. Ella Post died at the City hospital in Barron on the evening of Jan. 20, 1921 in her fifty-second year. She was highly respected by an unusual number of friends, and dearly loved by her many relatives. I think she had a closer personal acquaintance with more women than any I have ever known. She will long be remembered because of this. In her friendships and home life she was extremely frank and sympathetic, without pretense or thought of betterment for herself. Our pleasures and sorrows were always hers. The obligations and pleasures of her life were alike, she met the one as cheerfully as she accepted the other. Every now and then, through happy combination of circumstances we make a new discovery. This no doubt she has done. "I go to prepare a place for you." In her daily life she strictly observed the Lord's requirements: "Do justly, love mercy with all thy heart, and walk humbly with thy God."
    • "The world is so large, and all therein contained so great, that the average life accomplishes but very little, but it can truly be said of Ella Post that: Earth is happier and better having known her, Heaven is sweeter that she's there."
