Rensselaer Republican Mon., 10 Jan 1972 Mrs. Emond, 98, Dies Sunday
Mrs. Ella (LaRoche) Emond, 98, of Remington, died at the Turtle Creek Nursing Home at Monticello, Sunday at 5:00 p.m. following an illness of 2 years.
Born at St. Anne, Illinois on September 2, 1873, she was the daughter of Peter and Mary (Coyer) LaRoche. Her marriage to Joseph Emond took place October 23, 1893 at St. John Catholic Church (now Sacred Heart), Remington. Mr. Emond died December 14, 1927.
Mrs. Emond was affiliated with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Alter and Rosary Society of Remington. She was also a member of the Home Economics and Garden Club there.
Surviving are a son and a daughter, L. Bert Emond of Tuscon, Arizona and Mrs. Venitta Townsend of Remington, 7 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, a brother, John LaRoche, Brea, California, and two sisters, Mae Soucie, St. Anne, Illinois and Mrs. Emma Barnes, Poplar, Montana. A daughter, three brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10;00 a.m. (EST) Wdnesday, with the Rev. John Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
