About Ella Victoria Oldford
Ella Victoria married her cousin Arthur Daniel Oldford in the late 1890's in Brooklyn at St Andrew's Anglican Church.
She, Arthur and their 3 children moved to Horn Hill (east of Penhold and south of Red Deer, Alberta) with her in-laws, John and Amy Oldford, John Ellis, Caleb, and sister Mildred in 1906. They joined brother Leslie Adolphus and sister Ada Hope who had moved to Alberta in 1904. They established a farm, built a house (which was standing until 2000) 2 km west of Horn Hill and raised 10 children there.
Ella was a middle child of 13; she had a brother Bruce who visited her at Horn Hill, and a sister Jennie who stayed in Newfoundland.
After Arthur's death, Ella Victoria managed their farm until she retired to Red Deer.
