From the US Holocaust Museum: "Hans Stern died in Mauthausen in 1941, as you know. It is clear in the documents that his mother Ella was aware of this. She herself was deported In January 1944 from Westerbork to Theresienstadt, in May 1944 from there to Auschwitz, and in July 1944 Stutthof where she died in October 1944."
